I should be punished for not writing so long on my blog.
Just had some great weeks with Susanne. The day of her arrival I had such a big smile on my face after 4 months of not seeing a real good friend. In the bus to the airport I met Robert a 60 year old little deaf guy who had a boat and he asked me if I wanted to go sail with him to Colombia. Susanne was also welcome. At the airport I also met a guy, Pedro who said Susanne and I could stay in his house whenever we were visiting Managua. Why not. Got his phonenumber too.
I had arranged a beautiful hotelroom with airco of two gay men, living on the Island. Thought it would be nice after a long flight. The room was next to a pond and a beautiful garden and that was the reason at night it was full of mosquitos. We started killing them, but it was useless there were hundreds. After half an hour the walls were full of little bloody spots. We asked the owners what to do and the only solution was to sleep in their bed. They didn´t clean the bed, so the first night we stayed in a warm and dirty gay-bed without airco... what a start.
Roatan is the place to take a diving course. The reefs are one of the most beautiful in the world and it´s realy cheap. I was a little scared in the beginning. It is dangerous to hold your breath while diving and that is the first thing you normaly do when you go under water. But you get used to it and after three days it was worth it. It´s like swimming with fish, turtles, lobsters and sharks in a big aquarium.
We were ready to move on and went with Robert on his sailing boat to Nicaragua. But there was no wind so we were stuck for two days with a hermit. Very nice but too long alone, too many his rules on the boat and we were the first visiters since years.... Again time to move on, this time by bus to Nicaragua. We made a tour from the hotest (40 degrees) colonial city Leon, to a smoky volcano where we sandboard down, to the highlands were we stayed on a coffeefarm with a family, to Granada the most colorfull town and to Ometepe a precious island with two volcanoes in the biggest lake of Central America and much more. The last night we went to Pedro`s house in Managua. Pedro was a senior economist at the worldbank. He was a realy cool man and we had the best time. It was the biggest house I had ever seen from the inside. We could choose between three guestrooms were we would sleep. He had a large swimmingpool and a jacuzzi in the garden. When he orded pizza I was running over his garden taking pictures of the house and of us in the jacuzzi. Sus and I could´t stop giggling. We felt like two cheap Russian prostitutes sipping our wine in a jacuzzi. But luckily only felt.
A now back to normal life, and getting into my Spanish again with a week more of school learnig the informal "vos" wich they use between good friends.
