Well the wedding wasn´t that traditional, but I had a wonderful time in Peguche at Doña Suca´s place. She was lovely. On Christmas eve we went, with 2000 indigenous people and some of their dogs to the church. Kids were dressed as angels and kings or Josef and Maria. And the ground was overwhelmed with baby Jesus who they brought from their houses. The mass was a bit long and I was a little tired but couldn´t fall asleep, because I was a head bigger and the only white person in the church and everybody was looking "what on earth is she doing here?" The next morning I got up early to go with Doña Suca to the Saturday animal market. Life just goes on, Christmas or not. This market is amazing. They bring animals from all over Ecuador, and you can buy dogs, lama´s, guinea pigs, cows, horses or whatever and lot´s of them. You can find all kinds of indigenous people with there traditional clothes selling of buying animals.
The wedding was in the evening of the 25th in the church (two days in a row in a church, I think I made a record!) with lots of food at 10pm at the parents of the groom. The 26th the party was at the parents house of the bride and it felt like Christmas, again a lot of food (like soup with guineapig) and sitting and talking. Luckily Doña Suca asked me to make pictures for her from the wedding so I had I nice excuse to walk around. On the end we danced (or more walked) in a cirkle on Musica Andina. It was a great experience.
